What to do first when planning a wedding?
As an experienced wedding photographer, doing this job for years now, I am going to help the future brides and grooms on wedding planning. When couples decide to plan a wedding it can be a bit difficult and stressful but at the same time, it is really a magical moment. The most important thing that I can tell you is that give yourself plenty of time to plan your dream wedding. Don’t stress or panic. If you give yourself all the time needed then everything will turn out fine.
The budget is also one of the first steps when planning a wedding. Deciding how much are you going to spend on your wedding is the main reason for your other wedding decisions. By setting your budget you will be able to know how much are you going to spend on the photography/videography service, for your wedding dress, venue, food, etc. The bride and groom should choose a wedding style. Getting inspired by the wedding is essential for the bride and groom.
Wedding Decisions
It’s also important that you work on your guest list. The wedding guests are the ones who can turn your wedding into a fun and beautiful one. While you are working on your guest list, you can also search for the perfect venue for your wedding. Venues should also be booked several months before or maybe a year ahead. Make sure you chose the perfect venue that matches your wedding’s style and is the right size so all the guests can feel comfortable. And after that, you should book the other vendors for your wedding.
The wedding photographer and videographer should be booked a long time before the wedding. Other vendors that the bride and groom should take care of is the florist, caterer, music, wedding dresses, cake, etc. Make sure that you are comfortable working with these people. You should also be clear about what you like and what would you want at your wedding. And after the bride and groom have finalized the guest list, have found the perfect wedding dress and suit for their special day, have sent the invitations, it’s time for the big day.
Another advice from me is: the bride and groom should both be involved in these decisions. It makes wedding planning more fun when both of you decide what you want. Most importantly, don’t forget to have fun. It’s the most special event in your life.
