Wedding photos captured in Gjirokastër

Besides wanting romantic photos, this lovely couple wanted a place also full of history. In one of the most unique cities in the world and precious historical place, we captured some perfect shots. Gjirokastër is a city in southern Albania. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You all may know or heard about Gjirokastër from Ismail Kadare, an Albanian writer. Besides the beautiful architecture, the cobblestone streets and the magnificent castle, Gjirokastër is also known for its art, the polyphonic songs. Wedding photos in a place like these evoke your emotions. As an Albanian photographer, I was very pleased to capture wedding photos in a place like this.

The getting-ready moments

While the bride and groom were getting ready, I photographed some quality moments of the couple. Her beautiful bridal style combined so perfectly with the location and the city. A ball gown wedding dress that made her look dreamy. The bouquet of white tulips was the right choice for this look.

After a quick change of locations, from inside the beautiful houses to the streets of Gjirokastra, the bride decided to wear a different wedding dress. This time she chose a modern fit and flare wedding dress. It was the perfect dress for a glamorous bride. Her little and cute baby bump made her look even more beautiful. Exploring this city through my work, as an Albanian wedding photographer was totally different.

Unique style of the city

Something that is worth mentioning is the decor. The beautiful houses made of stone that look like fortresses. That is the reason why the town is named “The city of stone”. The magnificent castle gave the wedding photos another meaning and emotion. The picturesque view that the castle offers is stunning. Also, Gjirokastër has an old bazaar with cobblestone streets that helped me capture the perfect shots. Our couple posed so naturally. Sharing their love in a place like this, in their land was so emotional for them and such a beautiful experience for me.
