Black Lake is a lake in northern Montenegro. Black Lake is one of the most famous Montenegro’s tourist attraction. There you can experience untouched natural beauty. Exists a famous myth
about the creation of Black Lake. Saint Sava a prince and Orthodox monk, cursed the lands where the Black Lake is found today after being accused of stealing a rooster. He prayed that the
land would no longer be called a village, but it should become the Black Lake. Black Lake is filled by numerous mountain streams and is surrounded by coniferous forests.
It is also an adequate and popular destination for hiking and it offers a picturesque view. It’s perfect for a winter photoshoot.
A December to remember, winter photoshoot and creating memories…
When we talk about the holiday season we all have some specific images in our head, snowy winter and families who come together by the lovely atmosphere. And it was precisely this image that inspired this photoshoot. Location was the first and most important choice. I had visited Black Lake before but in the summer season. Since it was December, everything would be covered by snow. Knowing that environment, I had pictured how it would look this time around, MAGICAL. An interesting detail about this photo shoot was the fact that the Black Lake was completely frozen. The only problem we encountered was that we didn’t know where was the land and where was the lake. It all looked like a scene from Frozen. I tried my best to orient everyone as best I could since I had visited this place before.
In the whiteness of snow, I had to find something for contrast. So the first thing I thought was a red blanket. It was the right choice to make the images even more complete and finding the right combination of colors. This winter photoshoot was so special.
A family portrait
I tried to make the couple feel as comfortable as possible. The wonderful atmosphere that was created made the couple pose so naturally. Kissing, hugging, playing with each other, sharing their love in front of my camera, this was exactly what I wanted to achieve. This is also the essence of my job as a photographer, capturing the right moments, real feelings between people, the pure emotions.
